The new Pontiac G6 lineup boasts a large 2.4 liter four banger that was rated to be at 164 horsepower. The said feature was initially seen at GM’s Sedan series.

Car enthusiasts expect that the new lineup would promise a 33 mpg rate. This is in lieu of the fact that the vehicles were all paired up with the six speed automatics.

The new Pontiac G6 lineup offers two kinds of engines: the original 3.9 liter V6 (222hp for the convertible types) and a new Ethanol E85 V6 engine.

People waiting for this new series are surely in for a good ride. The exteriors of the Pontiac G6 have all been pimped up for the delight of its fans.

Following the design of GM’s G8 Sedan, the front and rear fascias of the new Pontiac lineup were given a sporty appeal. Improved spoilers also gave the vehicles a different attitude. To cap off the improvements, the new lineup were given a feel of new headlights.

Meanwhile, not all the models were given an interior upgrade to retain their sporty looks. The GXPs are the only ones among the lineup that were given new interior furnishings.

The G6 Sedan will start as GM’s 2009 ½ model. Insiders say that the unit will cost $19,945 (inclusive of shipping). On the other hand, the G3 batch will be available in the market by March with a starting price of $14,995.

The weight is down to approximately 4,300 pounds. 500 pounds lighter than a standard SL65. It has a fixed roof with a roll cage that’s fully integrated. Because of its lighter weight, this unit has 1 horsepower per 6.1 pounds for its power-to-weight ratio.

Other than the doors-aluminum outer skin and the magnesium inner, everything else is fresh. Take the steel bumper and rear fenders for example.

The AMG or Mercedes production broke its own record by coming up with a superb twin turbo V12 with 6.0-liter. So far the most powerful engine dated in the carmaker’s history. It also has a 5-speed auto transition with a torque converter.

Talk about the steering system and the brakes, Mercedes made sure that everything comes in one package. It is similar to the ones they offer in their SL63 AMG Performance Package. Add to it are the two suspension settings.

Very noticeable in these super cars are the rear tires—325/30ZR20. This is massive. Its look is more like that of a proper coupe as the AMG CEO, Thomas Rappel, suggested. The front tires would only be 265/35ZR19s.

The claims of the manufacturer about the 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds may sound superficial but it’s superbly possible with this one. Once the driver goes full throttle, he will be blazing on the asphalts.
